One of the few things that I miss reading about (I am also a writer and a soprano) is artists taking about their mentors. There are a lot of self taught artists out there. That is not only untrue but also sad: Even if you watch a YouTube video you are learning from someone else.
A wise man once said, that you need at least one mentor in finance, in health, and most importantly one or more mentors in your area of expertise. And he is more than right: there is nothing more rewarding than talking to someone who knows your grey zones, that is what mentors are for: to correct and instruct.
For artists daily training is crucial more than at any other discipline. That is why when I talk to other fellow artists I love when I hear they are still taking classes.
If you wonder who my mentors are, have a look at my BIO and you will find their names.
I kindly invite you to check out their webpages and see their wonderful art.
Last but not least…who are your mentors?
Read you soon,
Karina
