For years, the Baroque wig has been one of the central symbols within Painting Queen\u2019s visual universe. It represents power, constructed identity, artifice, and theatricality\u2014an elaborate architecture of hair that once embodied status, authority, and representation.<\/p>\n

Avec Vestiges d'une Couronne, ce symbole ne dispara\u00eet pas : il se transforme.<\/p>\n

The series marks a new chapter in the artist\u2019s practice. The wig is no longer depicted explicitly but begins to emerge from the very substance of the painting itself. Layers of oil paint, glazes, translucent passages, and eroded surfaces reveal images that seem to surface slowly, as though time itself had almost erased them.<\/p>\n

Les formes \u00e9voluent dans un \u00e9quilibre subtil entre pr\u00e9sence et absence. La figuration se dissout sans jamais dispara\u00eetre totalement, laissant au regardeur la libert\u00e9 de reconstruire l'image \u00e0 travers sa propre m\u00e9moire et son imagination.<\/p>\n

Plus que des objets, ces peintures \u00e9voquent ce qui subsiste lorsque la forme s'efface. Tels les fragments d'une fresque ancienne, d'une sculpture us\u00e9e par le temps ou les traces laiss\u00e9es sur un vieux mur, elles deviennent des espaces o\u00f9 la m\u00e9moire demeure inscrite dans la mati\u00e8re.<\/p>\n

L'\u00e9volution chromatique de la s\u00e9rie \u2013 des terres min\u00e9rales et des ocres lumineux jusqu'aux bleus profonds et aux noirs presque absolus \u2013 accompagne cette transformation. Le baroque n'est pas abandonn\u00e9 ; il est distill\u00e9. L'ornement devient atmosph\u00e8re. Le volume devient trace. La th\u00e9\u00e2tralit\u00e9 devient silence.<\/p>\n

Vestiges d'une Couronne propose une r\u00e9flexion sur ce qui subsiste lorsque le pouvoir perd sa forme visible. Toute couronne finit par dispara\u00eetre, mais ses vestiges continuent d'habiter la m\u00e9moire.<\/p>\n

La couronne a disparu. Seule sa m\u00e9moire demeure.<\/strong><\/p>\n
